What Perple replaces:

Our ingredients, explained.

Water

Never underestimate the chemical importance of water! Water and the right carbohydrates, together will help your muscles work harder for longer

Coconut water from concentrate, Sweet potato juice from concentrate

Why do we use Sweet Potato Juice and Coconut Water from concentrates?

Let's first consider why we use Sweet Potato Juice and and Coconut Water. Because they are rich in all the right nutrients, that are scientifically proven to help us perform during exercise.

And we evaporate some of the water content of each, to form concentrates, for two main reasons.

Firstly, to conserve and safeguard all of the rich nutrients, without using controversial chemical preservatives. By pasteurizing and then freezing the concentrated ingredients. This makes it impossible for harmful bacteria to grow, which is especially important when transporting these ingredients from as far afield as South Africa and Indonesia.

Second, it means we ship less liquid volume across the oceans, emitting less CO2, which is better for our planet.

Brown Rice Syrup

We use Brown Rice syrup, because of its complimentary carbohydrate profile, critical in our precise formulations, to give you balanced nutrients, that help you to perform.

The syrup is made by boiling brown rice, to breakdown the high starch content. Too much starch can cause gastrointestinal distress, the last thing you want during exercise.

Agave Syrup

Agave is a Mexican plant that is typically used to make tequila. Yet, by extracting the sap and boiling it, the resulting syrup has a carbohydrate profile that is low on the glycemic index. It plays an important role in our formulations, in making sure that you get constant energy during your sports.

Branched amino acids: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine

Our Branched-Chain Amino Acids come from Non-GMO corn and not meat. They play an important role in reducing muscle damage during exercise, as well as helping to improve focus.

L-Arginine

Our Arginine, also from Non-GMO corn, is an amino acid that has an important role to play in reducing ammonia from your blood. Doing so, contributes to recovery from hard training.

Colouring Vegetable Concentrate (Black Carrot)

Our colouring foods are entirely natural, straight from the food source itself. In this case black carrots, which give Perple its distinctive Orchid to violet colour. And for a bit of fun, we've kept the colour the same across all flavours.

Natural Flavourings

All of our flavourings, to produce the tantilising Perple tastes, making it easy for you to get down during your sports, are from natural food sources.

Acidity Regulators: Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate

Our acidity regulators are organic compounds naturally found in plants. Ours come from Non-GMO corn and are important to maintain the right PH for Perple drinks. This, together with our pastuerisation techniques, and Tetrapak packaging, means that Perple can stay fresh lin the cupboard!) for 12 months, without using controversial chemical preservatives.

Are there any side effects associated with Perple's products?

Wrongly, we’ve all come to accept the price we pay for using traditional sports nutrition products. From feeling sick, and upset stomachs, to headaches and heart palpitations. But, with Perple, there’s no trade off. No painful side effects. Just the great tasting pleasure of enhanced performance. And, all of the ingredients in Perple products are free of the 14 major allergens. But, if you have any concerns beyond these,  or pre-existing medical conditions, we recommend that you consult with a healthcare professional.

Our sports nutrition mixes and sports drinks have been designed for use in exercise and sports. Yet, you can use them if your nutrition regime has not been good throughout your day, and you are in need of energy and rehydration. However, we do recommend that if you consume Perple products without exercise, you do so in the context of a balanced and healthy diet.

Where should I store my Endurance Mix or Sports Drink?

Perple Endurance Mixes and Sports Drinks can be stored in your cupboards in the kitchen, without the need for putting them in the fridge, if they’re unopened. But, if you like them cold, go ahead and pop them in the fridge.
